I work with epoxy and wood, merging permanence with growth to honor the ancestral pulse within black life. Through the language of locs, animals, and earth, I summon memory, sacred, tangled, and alive.
Materials used hold memory like marrow, epoxy sealing what we cannot lose, wood carrying what we must remember. My work seeks not just to reflect lineage, but to embody it and to give form to the sacred threads that bind us to those before and what we know to be within.
The Black Creativity program — now in its 56th year — honors the achievements of
Black creatives and innovators, while championing opportunities for today’s youth to
explore STE(A)M in service of a more equitable future rooted in community, creativity
and discovery.
